This 0.69-acre parcel is the site of Kensington Tower, a planned 40-story residential building located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City on the northwest corner of State Street and 200 South. KIC purchased the site in 2018, which contains a now-vacant former Carl’s Jr. restaurant. Groundbreaking for Kensington Tower is scheduled for Summer 2021 with anticipated completion in Fall 2024.
The tower will total over to 685,000 square feet of building area, including parking levels, ground floor retail, 372 luxury apartment units and 5 guest suites. Eighth floor amenities include a terrace, gourmet kitchen, lounge featuring TVs and games, fireplace, outdoor deck with seating and grills, an urban park, and state-of-the-art fitness center and fitness studio. The 22nd floor has the pool terrace with a swimming pool, jacuzzi, and a spa with saunas, a plunge pool and treatment rooms. The 40th floor is a residents-only rooftop terrace with big-screen TV, grill, and ample socialization areas for groups of all sizes. The tower reaches about 450 in height from the ground to the top of the screen wall surrounding the roof.
Consistent with KIC’s commitment to environmental sustainability, the Kensington Tower is designed with high-end mechanical and HVAC systems, as well as energy efficient windows and appliances to meet LEED Gold certification standards.
KIC has built strong partnerships for the planning, construction, and management of the tower to ensure it is Salt Lake City’s premier residence. The building was designed by HKS Architects and will be constructed by Jacobsen Construction. Residential operations will be managed by Greystar
